Skippered Charters

With our skippered charters you can enjoy the unique experience of sailing in North Aegean, stress-free and safe! Those charters are made for people with no experience at all, or for sailors who just want to relax on their holidays.

1.What is a skippered charter?

Αs the name implies, a skippered chartered means that along with the yacht of your preference you hire also a professional skipper. The main role of the skipper is the boat handling, navigating, sailing, and mooring in the places you will visit.

2.How much does a skippered charter cost?

This type of charter includes right to use the agreed boat type along with its inventory list, VAT 12%, dinghy, 1x full spare bottle of cooking gas, 1 set per person bed linen and towels, insurance (for the yacht and third-party liability, the passengers and sea pollution), port fees for the day of embarkation and disembarkation (base port) and also includes the skipper’s payment as more as the skipper’s meals.

The skipper’s payment comes at 140 euro/day plus his meals. A gratuity is appreciated for excellent service. The security deposit is needed also in skippered charters and covers all the damages except the naval ones.

3.What are the responsibilities of the skipper?

The main responsibilities of the skipper are:

to navigate, sail and moore the yacht
to ensure the crew’s and boat’s safety
to check the weather forecast and avoid sailing in very rough seas
to provide you his local knowledge and plan the itinerary with the rest of the crew
to fill in the boat’s fuel and water tank on charterer’s expense

All decisions that refer to the itinerary, mooring and anchoring of the yacht are based on knowledge, experience and safety and must be discussed always with the skipper.

In many cases you will have to assist the skipper with small duties, such as dropping the anchor and throwing lines. This will also be a great way to learn your first steps in sailing and boat handling.

Please note that the skipper has his own cabin.
