Halkidiki Peninsula

Itinerary

Halkidiki has the longest shoreline in Greece which makes it a favorable
place for sailing vacations. It’s a “three fingered” peninsula, which consists of three smaller, Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos.

Kavala

Day One

Kavala is located 175 km east from Thessaloniki and also has her own airport (Megas Alexandros) 27 kilometers east. Our base is in the center of the city, where you can find plenty of shops, taverns and accommodation. You can spend your first night in our base or you can start your sailing adventure by hopping to Thassos island

Limenaria

Day two

Due to Mount Athos, our destination is pretty far from our base so we suggest a stop by west Thassos port, Limenaria. Limenaria is a new port and the second biggest town of Thassos, where you can find water and many taverns all around, as well as the famous “loukouma” sweets and it’s 20 nautical miles from Kavala

Porto Koufo

DAY THREE

Heading to Halkidiki, the worthiest peninsula to explore is Sithonia. First stop to the aera is Porto Koufo, the safest natural port of Greece. It’s located in the southwest side of Sithonia, 57 nm from Limenaria, and it is surrounded by a small village, with many facilities. You can stay on anchor, or alongside in one of the two piers

Diaporos Island

DAY FOUR

One of the most worth seeing places of Halkidiki is Diaporos island. It's a small island between Sithonia and Mount Athos, with many safe anchorages and the most beautiful waters of Halkidiki. You can spend more than one day in this area, or you can anchor in Ormos Panagias port, or in Lagonisi bay. In another beautiful beach of this area, Vourvourou beach, you can also find taverns and beach bars, using your dinghy to go ashore

Ammouliani

DAY FIVE

In the north side, between Sithonia and Mount Athos, there is a small village, Pirgadikia (7nm from Diaporos), where you can find a dock alongside. Closer to Mount Athos, there is another small island, in the north west side, called Ammouliani (10nm). There is a small port for overnight stay and many taverns and shops all around and of course many beautiful beaches

Halkidiki to Thasos

DAY SIX

Returning to Thasos, you can stay in Limenaria port (57 nm) and enjoy a meal in a Greek tavern, or choose to sail to Aliki bay, or Rosogkremos beach (60nm), for an overnight stay under the stars. Those bays have some of the most worth seen crystal waters of Thasos Island.

Thasos to Kavala

Day seven

The way back to Kavala port from Limenaria, is 20 nautical miles and from Aliki beach is 30, so you can enjoy the morning before returning to base, swimming and sailing around the area. Suggested places for swimming are Kefalas Bay, Tripiti and Maries (where there is also a dock and taverns).
